The Ninth Annual PQ5K Fun Run will be held on April 30, 2016! We will have race bibs that you can pick up on the day of the race starting at 6:30 a.m. at the starting line. The race will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a free breakfast waiting at the finish line for all participants and their supporters!
This year our PQ5K community service project is to collect snack items for Penasquitos students in need. These have been requested by our local PQ school services staff, health attendants, counselors, and principals who keep snack items in their offices to give to students who need them and can’t afford them. They are in need of healthy, non perishable, and individually wrapped snack items. Examples would include protein bars, trail mix, granola bars, Nutri Grain type bars (fruit filled), cheese crackers, cereal/breakfast bars, apple sauce in squeeze packets, fruit snacks, pretzels, etc.
We will have drop boxes at the start and finish lines of the PQ5K where you can make a voluntary in-kind donation. It is widely known through state-wide statistics that well nourished students perform better, test higher and achieve more. Let’s give the kids in our community all the edge we can through this small act of kindness.
There will be limited complimentary shuttles running between the finish line and the starting line from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.This service is to help you get back and forth between the two locations. There is limited parking at the finish line so once it is full we will ask you to park at the starting line. There are no infant car seats or child boosters provided so please drop off children with adult supervision as needed in their intended destination and use the shuttles for drivers only where needed. We appreciate your cooperation to make this a smooth process.
